The Seduction Review Charter
I gave some thought to the perspective of these pages, which had never been written down. And thus create a short charter for the blog.
Why? Some feedback and questions that we received led me to the opinion that creating a charter would be a good thing to do. Why also? This site is different (not better than many… but different) from other seduction community resources and blogs.
The Charter
Seduction Review provides an overview perspective on seduction community information, news and products. This blog offers independent views on seduction ideas and material, from both the seduction community and seduction relevant material from other sources.
Why is this different? Essentially this site does not offer seduction advice or tips. Its goal is balanced criticism and news on existing methods and existing advice. It is not about any of its authors growth and experience in seduction (this in no way belittles other blogs that exist as a diary of individual PUAs experience). Sometimes we report on an idea that is without the direct sphere of seduction but has seduction community implications. In these cases we review them for seduction application or include them as they offer perspective on seduction thought.
In short: There are ‘how to’ resources. This site is a reflection on those resources and perspectives within and for seduction.
I’ll finish this post with a short list of a couple of the other blogs on seduction that, in this reviewers opinion, offer good advice and cover the kind of thing this blog doesn’t touch.

P.S. There will be some useful review posts uploaded soon. Thanks for your time reading this ‘how does it fit’ type stuff.
Thundercat Is Back
Many guys know of Thundercat. For those who don’t, Thundercat was one of the first seduction bloggers and author of The Art of Approaching. His site thundercatseductionlair gave voice to a lot of issues within seduction. TCs ranting (his term not mine) style on various seduction subjects led to discussion from many seduction quarters.
More recently his site invited some controversy with scathing attacks on some members of the seduction community and wholehearted support to others. However, some good insight and information has been found there consistently since its creation in early 2004.
TCs lair was apparently abandoned months ago, and many missed it for its dose of seduction hot topics. But, as you may have guessed by the title of this post, Thundercat has returned with a new blog.
His old site is remaining at www.thundercatseductionlair.com
For reference to the archived posts. There is some interesting stuff in there.
The new Thundercat site can be found at www.artofapproaching.com/blog
Maybe the controversy will be tempered, or maybe not. Maybe that’s why we enjoyed it! Maybe not. You may want to check it out.
Real World Seduction
Real World Seduction is a book by Swinggcat. It is available from www.realworldseduction.com and is priced at $39.95. This was a product that we looked at and used, but never reviewed originally, so we are remedying that now. I first saw the Swinggcat book circa December 2004, it was released earlier that year.
At the heart of the Swinggcat philosophy is the concept called Prizing. A self-frame and social perspective, its inception creates a social model of behavior that the Real World Seduction method works itself around. The prizing idea defined in Swinggcat’s own words: “Prizing is getting a woman so emotionally charged, she is compelled to game, court, chase and pursue you”.
The first point about this is that it is a strong perspective to game. More than is made out from Swinggcat’s statement of the prizing purpose is its strong inner game frame, that (to a greater or lesser extent) is a powerful part of seduction.
The manual is split into 5 parts. The first three are the ones that deal directly with the prizing concepts. the last two are related to the use of prizing in the real world.
Briefly, section 1 is Becoming The Prize: The part on that thing of being the prize. What it is, what you are when you are it and how to achieve it. Section 2 is on Prizability: On the descriptive, the adjective if you will, of what it means to be the prize. The third part, titled Prizing: The active doing part of how to prize. Section 4 is called Chick Tests & Chick Frames: It deals with seeing the real world seduction process in another perspective. Finally, section 5 Putting It All Together: An anecdotal tale showing the techniques in practice.
A Quick Breakdown. Part 1 contains the development of prizing; characteristics and useful ideas on frames and meanings, which becomes important in the adopting of prizing frames. Part 2 introduces concepts on style; opening; a bit on cold reading and storytelling. The stories are nice pieces of material and, whereas some story theory for seduction purposes goes further than Swinggcat, the examples are good. On the whole likable and with good foundation principles, note also that some of Swinggcat’s original stories are now standard seduction techniques.
An aside: many of the chapters in this book finish with a homework assignment. It is an interesting approach not only to tell the reader what they need to know about this approach to seduction, but also how to learn it. Many readers may find this helpful in areas. Some readers may find it particularly asinine.
Part 3. The doing part is where we come across some of the techniques that Swinggcat is known for. Special mention to the chapters on open loops to build intrigue and especially the Push-Pull technique, explained well and in an applicable manner. Part 4 is a strong reframing section, its non PC perspective is to be applauded as the idea of tests reflects the reality. The idea of frames and tests (to be expected) further enforces the Prize frame. Further, this section presents specific situational techniques for reframing and outframing.
Part 5 of this manual is titled Putting It All Together. It is a story from the author’s experience that is designed to illustrate the use of the previously discussed techniques and perspectives in-field. It has it’s strengths and weaknesses, one being that it is only one example. The idea of using a story to illustrate the points is a good one, building an understanding of the real world application. As a teaching tool it falls short of its potential. Making clear what is the normal possibilities for this approach, but not really breaking it down with reference to what you have just read.
Summary.
The adoption of a single strong frame (the prizing frame) perspective to understanding seduction yields some strong benefits. In terms of recognizing the viewpoint of prizing as the model for seduction, the reader is lefts with a complete understanding. Other systems that have a further reaching approach to seduction, with explanation in terms of many areas, often do not leave the reader with such a complete understanding. The linear approach of the Swinggcat method incorporates a lot of what is at the heart of seduction by reference to prizing itself as a powerful frame.
No book claims that it teaches everything that a seduction manual can, and neither is that the case here. However, this point is raised because the perspective of prizing does limit what is on offer to relate to one frame. Other books can combine frames and ideas (some do so successfully). Many books don’t achieve any more in terms of seduction by having more dimensions but the ideas are not limited. Real World Seduction is very good in this area of a single viewpoint to seduction.
The book is well structured to build knowledge of this material. To the beginning student of seduction it is all about real-world application of inner game understanding. To the moderately experienced student it is about a strong independent frame to embody an aspect of all real relationships. Thus the building of character surrounding the prizing principle provides a strong frame that is true of seduction.
Real World Seduction is a solid text with a strong conceptual framework that fits an accurate model of the seduction frame as any of the main methods out there. If a prospective student of seduction were to choose this as their introductory text, I would suggest reading around the subject. But, at any level, this book has a useful perspective and learnable skills that enhances seduction application.

Workshop Reviews
There are always questions coming our way, and they are all appreciated. So, I repeat the email address for anyone wanting to ask a question, query, comment or suggestion: you can reach us at seductionreview@gmail.com
The question that prompted this post is
“Some advice on X workshop please?”
“Why don’t you provide reviews to workshops?”
“What workshop would you recommend/should I take?”
None of us have stopped learning, however workshops for us are few and far between. We have served our apprenticeships if you will. Workshops provide a particular challenge for the reviewer: You can’t go back over the product except in your mind; they are expensive (compared to the saleable seduction products); For a lot of the review of seduction workshops it is about the experience and teaching, difficult to objectify.
That sounds pretty negative, but only for balanced review purposes. And for those reasons and more Seduction Review avoids reviewing workshops. But workshops and seminars can be important for many guys development, and if you are thinking about taking one then doing your homework is the right approach.
For anyone looking to take a workshop and looking for a perspective on what is involved and whether it is for you I suggest you go to www.seductionworkshopreviews.com. Despite the similar names Seduction Review is in no way affiliated with the Seduction Workshop Review. Note also that the reviews are submitted and experiences vary, so do take the advice on their main page and read the reviews carefully to help gauge your decision.
Lumalive Peacocking?
The video of the new Lumalive technology by Philips has been popular recently, and it has been suggested within the seduction sphere for its peacocking application.
A word on this.
Peacocking is about attention grabbing style and identity. Outside of the peacocking idea, the incorporation of a gimmick can be a useful seduction tool for curiosity and interest. But, by the nature of this technology, lumalive wouldn’t be a strong candidate for peacocking style.
The lumalive technology (if it becomes popular) will go through an initial phase with the concept itself holding the attraction of it. When it becomes the norm, then the creative applications will take front stage and at that time it’s use could either indicate lame party quirk or (far more rarely) a cool enhancement of the wearer’s identity.
I’m put somewhat in mind of guys wearing Daffy Duck ties or novelty t-shirts; you have an item that screams social reject and not centre of social attention. Another point, one which almost nullifies my last one. Peacocking is not just about the wearing of certain clothes but the attitude of the (extravagant) style. Thus a guy truly peacocking could (almost) get away with wearing the wacky tie or the ‘I’m With Stupid’ T. I wouldn’t recommend it as such, but peacocking is about consistent style that demonstrates value and creates a social pressure that the individual absorbs as part of his identity.
Finally: On the technology itself. If you dig deeper into Philips’ work on lumalive you discover that it currently relies on chunky batteries to be worn, with only a 4 hour operation time. I don’t think we’ll be seeing them in field very soon. But to those who wish to pioneer this stuff, their use before any mass popular appeal will certainly be a talking point and generate some neutral approaches.
Mehow… Me Who?
Earlier this month, a PUA by the name of Mehow who was originally an Approach Coach for Mystery Method released his own (delightfully designed, sometimes a bit annoying, it must be said) website. www.mehow.tv
As yet there isn’t any original Mehow products on offer. What there is though is video footage of Mehow’s PureKino techniques.
In this area there is the often presented debate surrounding how natural game is when you have a set aware of a camera recording them, as is the case here. We wont go into that. There has also been some brief discussion on Mehow’s overall technique within the seduction community. There are styles of seduction, the principles remain, you can see the video for yourselves here. http://www.mehow.tv/video/indexFull.php
Given Mehow’s particular bent for kino tactics (even if just for this short video), some criticism levied at his overall technique can be explained in terms of the demonstration that Mehow is putting on. If we take the scripted kino techniques separately then the overall approach further vindicates the power of the kino demonstrated.
One observer said that given Mehow’s relative obscurity, we would need to see other video to judge him by. This isn’t a particularly fair assertion, no-one else has had to accept that scrutiny. Word will spread naturally through the usual feedback, websites, word of mouth, as to whether Mehow’s qualified.
Anyway, that said I can provide a little of what that particular guy was wanting. I remember seeing Mehow as Approach Coach in a piece done for Current TV particularly on Neil Strauss and Mystery Method. (Mehow’s website provides links to photos from the show and lists the program in his achievements but doesn’t include the video link). Here it is www.current.tv/video/?id=1758929
